Former White House top strategist Steve Bannon on Sunday appeared to try to bury the sword in his ongoing feud withPresident Trump that erupted over recent comments he made in an explosive new book, saying his support for the president is “unwavering.” Bannon also expressed “regret” for calling the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., “unpatriotic” for meeting a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin at a meeting at Trump Tower in June 2016, blistering remarks Michael Wolff included in “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.” “Donald Trump, Jr. is both a patriot and a good man. He has been relentless in his advocacy for his father and the agenda that has helped turn our country around,” Bannon said in a statement to Axios. “My support is also unwavering for the president and his agenda as I have shown daily in my national radio broadcasts, on the pages of Breitbart News and in speeches and appearances from Tokyo and Hong Kong to Arizona and Alabama,” added Bannon, who returned to the web news site after leaving the White House last August.
*FILIBUSTER – Jake Tapper Cuts Off WH Adviser Stephen Miller in Tense Interview
CNN’s Jake Tapper cut off top White House adviser Stephen Miller on Sunday during a contentious interview on State of the Union. Tapper accused Miller of “[wasting] enough of my viewers’ time” by slamming CNN’s coverage of the Trump White House instead of answering questions directly. “There’s one viewer that you care about right now and you’re being obsequious,” Tapper told Miller, referring to President Donald Trump. The sit-down centered mostly on the claims made by former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon in Michael Wolff’s new book, Fire and Fury. “It’s tragic and unfortunate that Steve would make these grotesque comments so out of touch with reality and obviously so vindictive,” Miller told Tapper, adding that Bannon’s role at the White House “has been greatly exaggerated.” The Daily Beast reported last year that Bannon’s allies in the White House, including Miller, were souring on him, and Miller said his “friendship with Steve is stronger than ever.” Trump reacted to the interview in a tweet later Sunday morning: “Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration. Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!”

*‘Fire and Fury’ author Wolff says White House staff discuss 25th Amendment daily:
Concern in the White House about President Donald Trump’sfitness for office has become so great that members of the president’s administration routinely talk about a constitutional solution, the author of an explosive new book claimed in an exclusive interview on “Meet The Press.” Michael Wolff, the author of “Fire and Fury,” alleged Sunday that the 25th Amendment, which would allow the president’s cabinet to remove him from office, is a concept that is “alive every day in the White House.” Wolff said White House staffers he talked to would say things like “we’re not at a 25th Amendment level yet.” Others, he said, called Trump’s behaviors “a little 25th Amendment.”

Pope Francis on Sunday said that mothers can breastfeed their children inside the Sistine Chapel. Francis made the comments after baptizing 34 infants there in a two-hour-long ceremony. “If they start performing a concert [by crying], or if they are uncomfortable or too warm or don’t feel at ease or are hungry… breastfeed them, don’t be afraid, feed them, because this too is the language of love,” the pontiff said, according to Reuters. The remarks are viewed as providing more cover for women to breastfeed in public, something that is still ostracized around the world.

*LBN-MEDIA INSIDER: ***President Donald Trump isn’t the only person who columnist and author Michael Wolff has recently left in a shaking rage. “Today” anchor Megyn Kellyrefused to host Wolff on her show when he was promoting his book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” last week. Kelly is apparently still peeved about a Newsweek piece Wolff penned about her NBC deal, in which he wrote: “There is at any given time in the television news business invariably one person more mistrusted and reviled by all the other mistrusted and reviled people in the business . . . At Fox, for star colleagues down to makeup artists and, seemingly, by common agreement throughout the television news business, Megyn Kelly is the era’s most hardcore Eve Harrington case — soulless, heartless, shameless, avaricious, etc.”

*LBN-COMMENTARY by Haider Javed Warraich: A few days ago, I was having coffee with a friend who had just finished medical school and was helping me develop a machine-learning model that could predict which patients in the hospital were at the highest risk of dying. There was so much I had to learn from him, and yet he told me that those who inspired him were even younger than he was. “There are 19- and 20-year-olds I work with who will blow your mind,” he told me. Young doctors are ready to make health care both more innovative and patient-centric. But are the senior doctors they work with, and the patients they take care of, ready for them?
