*OMG! – Millennials Aren’t Ready for the ‘Reality of Life’:

Millennials aren’t ready for the ‘reality of life’ and suffer from panic attacks and anxiety problems, new research has revealed. A  study of 2,000 young people preparing to start university found that many aren’t ready for the challenges of living independently.  The research found that more than half of prospective students don’t know how to pay a bill and that many believe that nights out cost more than paying rent. Researchers said that many would-be students have been left worried and confused by the prospect of leaving home to start higher education. The study found 61 per cent of millennials are anxious about the prospect of starting university, while 58 per cent are having trouble sleeping and 27 per cent are having panic attacks.
*North Korea: Our ICBM Can Carry Nuclear Warhead, Too

North Korea’s new intercontinental ballistic missile can carry a large nuclear warhead, according to the Hermit Kingdom’s state-run news agency KCNA. Experts say the weapon—tested Tuesday—can reach Alaska and parts of the mainland United States, leading the U.S. to call for further action and the United Nations to convene an emergency session Wednesday. KCNA reported North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the test has now completed his country’s strategic-weapons project. Meanwhile, the top U.S. commander in South Korea told reporters Wednesday that only “self-restraint” is holding back a bigger U.S. response. “Self-restraint, which is a choice, is all that separates armistice and war,” warned Gen. Vincent Brooks, referring to the cease-fire that halted the Korean War in 1953. “As this alliance missile live-fire shows, we are able to change our choice when so ordered by our alliance national leaders…. It would be a grave mistake for anyone to believe anything to the contrary.”

*Report: Saudi Arabia Has ‘Clear Link’ to U.K. Extremism
Saudi Arabia is the largest foreign promoter of Islamist extremism in the United Kingdom, according to a new report released by neo-conservative foreign affairs think tank The Henry Jackson Society. The group calls for a public inquiry into the role of the Gulf nation in terrorism in the U.K., claiming there is a “clear and growing link” between Islamist organizations that receive overseas funds and Jihadist groups that are promoting violence. Tom Wilson, who authored the report, said, “While countries from across the Gulf and Iran have been guilty of advancing extremism, Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly at the top of the list.” The Saudi Arabian embassy in the U.K. called the claims “categorically false.”

*Volvo to Stop Making Gas-Only Cars in 2019

Automaker Volvo says all of its cars launched starting in 2019 will be either electric or hybrids. The decision makes Volvo, which is now owned by Chinese company Geely, the first major auto manufacturer to discontinue its production of gas-only vehicles. The company plans to release three new all-electric cars by 2021. “This announcement marks the end of the solely combustion engine-powered car,” Volvo Cars CEOHakan Samuelsson said. “Volvo Cars has stated that it plans to have sold a total of one million electrified cars by 2025. When we said it, we meant it. This is how we are going to do it.” Hybrid and electric vehicles are now just a fraction of new-car sales, but premium-market models are building enough momentum that experts say mass-market adoption will follow as the technology develops and prices drop.

*Vatican Cops Bust Drug-Fueled Gay Orgy at Cardinal’s Apartment:
Vatican police raided a drug-fueled gay sex party at the apartment of an aide to one of Pope Francis’ key advisers, according to an explosive new report. The Holy Father is “enraged,” since the home, inhabited by Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio’s secretary, belongs to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith — the arm charged with tackling clerical sex abuse, Italian paper Il Fatto Quotidiano reports. Cops raided the apartment in late June after neighbors complained about multiple people visiting the apartment and acting strangely. Inside, police said they found men getting high and getting it on, the paper reports. They arrested the priest after taking him to a clinic to detox from the drugs he’d ingested — presumably on drugs charges, as gay sex isn’t illegal in Vatican City. He is now on a spiritual retreat in a convent in Italy, the paper reports.

*LBN-MEDIA INSIDER:   ***MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” had its highest-rated show ever and the network’s highest-rated program ever in the time period when 1.7 million viewers tuned in to the first show after President Trump personally attacked co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on Twitter. Trump’s tweets clearly brought attention to the MSNBC morning show, as it finished Friday as the No. 1 morning show in cable news in both total viewers and the key demo of adults age 25-54 with 408,000 viewers in the category. Scarborough and Brzezinski were scheduled to be on vacation but stopped by their show to discuss the situation.

*LBN-COMMENTARY by Justin Glawe: Rep. Chris Collins said he would be divested of his interest in a foreign pharmaceutical company by the time it arrived in the U.S.  It has. And he’s not. The FDA last month approved a multiple sclerosis drug made by Innate Immunotherapeutics for clinical trials here. Collins, a Republican from New York, told The Buffalo News last week that he remains an investor.  That wasn’t the case months ago, when Collins told a reporter with the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that by the time Innate reached the FDA-test stage, he’d “be out of it then.”

*LBN-COMMENTARY by Kimberly Dozier: U.S. special operations forces have removed roughly 50 top ISIS leaders off the battlefield since President Donald Trump took office, down from 80 killed in the last six months of the Obamaadministration, according to figures obtained by The Daily Beast. “The pace and the way they have gone about going after these HVT’s [High-value targets] hasn’t changed,” said coalition spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon of the U.S. special operations’ campaign to take ISIS commanders off the Iraqi and Syrian battlefields. Those closest to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi have been hit hardest. “Most of them were killed in the last year of the Obama administration,” he said. “If there was a block chart of Baghdadi and all of his bubbas, we are hitting the fifth- and sixth-string leaders of the organization.” Coalition air strikes have increased under Trump, rising from an average of roughly 440 a month in the last six months of 2016 to just under 800 a month now, as coalition forces have liberated most of Mosul in Iraq, and breached ISIS’ Syrian capital of Raqqa. But the lower numbers of high-value targets killed points to the deadly success of the strategy built by the Obama White House.

*LBN-OVERHEARD:   ***When Kathy Griffin posed for a photoshoot holding a fake decapitated, bloody head of President Donald Trump in June, she likely didn’t think about the wide-reaching implications of her so-called “joke.” While her controversial stunt resulted in some serious professional consequences, it also earned her a lengthy visit from the U.S. Secret Service. Secret Service agents reportedly tracked down Griffin and interviewed her in person for more than an hour. Further, the investigation into the bloody head debacle remains open.
