Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos has surpassed Bill Gates to become the richest person in the world, Bloomberg News reported. A Thursday morning surge in Amazon’s share price pushed Bezos’ net worth to $90.9 billion, compared to $90.7 billion for Gates. The Microsoft founder had held the top spot on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index since May 2013.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has announced the title of her forthcoming memoir on the 2016 campaign: What Happened. The book will be released Sept. 12, according to Simon & Schuster’s website. “In the past, for reasons I try to explain, I’ve often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net,” Clinton writes in the introduction. “Now I’m letting my guard down.” According to the publisher, in these pages, Clinton “tells the story of what it was like to be the first woman nominated for president in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, kooky theatrics, Russian interference, a maddening inattention to serious issues, deplorable (yes, deplorable) bigotry, and an opponent who broke all the rules.

Anthony Scaramucci, the White House communications director, said on CNN’s New Day that leakers in the administration “would have been hung 150 years ago.” Scaramucci has threatened to purge the entire White House press office since assuming his post last week, with his main focus on anyone leaking information to reporters. In a since-deleted tweet Wednesday, he implied that Chief of Staff Reince Priebus could be responsible for some of the information that has been passed on to the press. “In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony. I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept #swamp @Reince45.” On Thursday morning, he added: “If Reince wants to explain that he’s not a leaker, let him do that.” An FBI spokesperson had no comment.

Madonna and her twin 4-year-old daughters, Estere andStella, have accepted damages over a Mail Online article that revealed personal information about the girls before they were adopted by the pop star. The Associated Newspapers paid out an undisclosed amount of money over the alleged “serious invasion of privacy.” Madonna adopted her daughters in February, and a January 2017 article revealed the girls’ ages, names, race and general location. “The Mail Online published it at a time when, as the journalist ought to have appreciated, Madonna would be powerless to protect the girls from harm,” said Madonna’s solicitor. “Their actions could, in her view, have threatened the integrity and/or outcome of the adoption process which would have had potentially life-changing implications for the girls, as well as for Madonna and her family.”
