*Report: ISIS Abducts 300+ Syrian Workers

Syrian state TV has reported that ISIS fighters have abducted more than 300 workers near Damascus. The cement workers and contractors, from al-Badia Cement Company, were allegedly taken from Dumeir.

*First ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer Arrives

The first official teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyarrived Thursday morning. The nearly two-minute spot reveals more of the plot line from the much-hyped spinoff, showingFelicity Jones as a Rebel spy tasked with a desperate mission to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used as a weapon by the newly formed Galactic Empire. Oscar-winnerForest Whitaker also appears throughout the trailer in what appears to be a Darth Vader-like black Empire suit of armor. The film hits theaters Dec. 16.

*LBN-R.I.P.:   ***Merle Haggard, one of the most successful singers in the history of country music, a contrarian populist whose songs about his scuffling early life and his time in prison made him the closest thing that the genre had to a real-life outlaw hero, died at his ranch in Northern California on Wednesday, his 79th birthday. His death was confirmed by his agent, Lance Roberts. Mr. Haggard had recently canceled several concerts, saying he had double pneumonia.   ***Seymour M. Lazar, a swashbuckling entertainment lawyer, stock trader and serial litigator whose lifetime of adventures took him from the legal tangle surrounding the estate of Howard Hughes to involvement in a colossal fraud case that threatened to bring down one of the biggest shareholder class-action law firms in the United States, died on March 30 at his home in Palm Springs, Calif. He was 88. His death was confirmed by his daughter, Tara Lazar.

Just one week after welcoming her third child with husband Jared Kushner, the 34-year-old mom hit the campaign trail Wednesday in support of father Donald Trump. Dressed in a sleeveless black sheath, Ivanka took the podium at a Long Island rally to praise the GOP front-runner.   ***Charlie Sheen’s life is getting even more complicated. The Los Angeles Police Department has opened a criminal investigation of the actor. LAPD Officer Mike Lopez told Page Six that “on March 31, at about 7:45 a.m.,” officers visited Sheen’s home as part of a criminal investigation in which Sheen was listed as a suspect. Lopez said that the victim’s information is confidential and that it’s “an ongoing investigation.” And there’s been a search warrant issued in the case.
