Trump on Recount: ‘Nothing Will Change’:

Donald Trump responded again to the Green Party-fueled recount in Wisconsin, saying it will not change the outcome of the race in that state, which he won by 27,000 votes. “Hillary Clinton conceded the election when she called me just prior to the victory speech and after the results came in. Nothing will change,” Trump tweeted early Sunday morning. Clinton’s campaign team has since joined the recount effort, spearheaded by the Green Party’s Jill Stein, in order to “ensure that it is fair to all sides.” Stein has also pledged to file for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania—two other heavily Democratic states that Trump won. In a later tweetstorm, Trump quoted Hillary Clinton when she said during the campaign that Trump had to accept the results of the election no matter what, and separately when she said after the election that Trump is owed “an open mind and the chance to lead.” He added: “So much time and money will be spent—same result! Sad.”

Syrian government soldiers have retaken a second district in eastern Aleppo, a day after regime forces took back the largest rebel-held area in the eastern part of the besieged city. The army said it now controls the area of Jabal Badro, after seizing control of Hanano on Saturday. The Syrian regime has now spent the past two weeks attempting to seize the rebel stronghold of eastern Aleppo, where as many as 275,000 people live. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says 219 civilians, including 27 children, have died so far in the offensive.

Israeli Airstrike Kills 4 ISIS Fighters:

An Israeli strike killed four ISIS fighters in the Syrian Golan Heights on Sunday, the country’s military said. The strike was called after Israeli troops came under fire in the region. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack. The militants were believed to be members of the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade, which the U.S. considers to be a terrorist organization and which has pledged allegiance to ISIS. Parts of Golan Heights are controlled by Israel, taken from Syria in 1967. The Israeli soldiers were on their side of the border when they were shot at.

LBN-BUSINESS INSIDER:   ***For more than a decade, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other beverage companies have fought mightily against efforts to tax sugary sodas, defeating more than three dozen such proposals around the country. But this month, voters in San Francisco, Oakland and Albany, Calif., as well as Boulder, Colo., stunned the industry by approving ballot measures in favor of soda taxes. Cook County, Ill., followed a few days later, bringing a soft-drink tax to Chicago and surrounding areas. They are joining Berkeley, Calif., which passed a tax two years ago, and Philadelphia, which passed one in June, bringing to seven the number of American communities with soda taxes.

U.S. Thanksgiving, Black Friday store sales fall, online rises reports media expert:

Sales and traffic at U.S. brick-and-mortar stores on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday declined from last year, as stores offered discounts well beyond the weekend and more customers shopped online reports media expert and author Michael Levine( ). “Internet sales rose in the double digits on both days, surpassing $3 billion for the first time on Black Friday” said Levine. “Data from analytics firm RetailNext showed net sales at brick-and-mortar stores fell 5.0 percent over the two days, while the number of transactions fell 7.9 percent” commented Levine.

LBN-NOTICED:   ***Guests joining Trump for Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago included Christopher Nixon Cox, the grandson of Richard Nixon, who we are told is being lined up to be Trump’s ambassador to China. Also there was Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, CEO of Newsmax Media Christopher Ruddy, boxing promoter Don King, interior designer William Eubanks and political consultant Mary Ourisman. Attracting almost as much attention as the president-elect was chiseled romance-novel hunk Fabio, who was seated at a table near Trump, and “was asked for pictures nearly as often as Trump himself.”   ***Michael Weatherly— star of the new CBS drama “Bull” — at Mamo in Soho in NYC.   ***Harvey Weinstein at Sotto Sopra in Amagansett near “Arrow” star Nolan Funk.   ***Fatima Ptacek, the teen star of “Dora the Explorer,” at Good Enough to Eat on the Upper West Side in NYC.   ***Marchesa partners Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig at Saks Fifth Avenue’s “Land of 1,000 Delights” holiday-windows unveiling.   ***Boy George and Venus Williams at the SLS Brickell Hotel & Residences grand opening in Miami.   ***Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom spent Thanksgiving together, putting to rest recent reports they’d broken up.

MY REVIEW: “The reason that I read LBN every day and have for the last five years is because it is fearlessly independent. It is tough and fair to all sides of the news and information of the day. No bullshit.” —– Claire W., an LBN reader from Denver, Colorado.

Harvey Milk and George Moscone Are Assassinated (1978)
After gaining a following as a leader of San Francisco’s gay community, Milk was elected to the city’s Board of Supervisors in 1977, becoming one of the first openly gay elected officials in US history. In 1978, he and Moscone, the city’s mayor, were shot and killed in City Hall by Dan White, a former city supervisor. White’s conviction on the less serious charge of voluntary manslaughter sparked riots in the city.

LBN-COMMENTARY by Maureen Dowd: Donald Trump pulled off one of the greatest political feats in modern history by defeating Hillary Clinton and the vaunted Clinton machine. The election was a complete repudiation of Barack Obama: his fantasy world of political correctness, the politicization of the Justice Department and the I.R.S., an out-of-control E.P.A., his neutering of the military, his nonsupport of the police and his fixation on things like transgender bathrooms. Since he became president, his party has lost 63 House seats, 10 Senate seats and 14 governorships. The country had signaled strongly in the last two midterms that they were not happy. The Dems’ answer was to give them more of the same from a person they did not like or trust. Preaching — and pandering — with a message of inclusion, the Democrats have instead become a party where incivility and bad manners are taken for granted, rudeness is routine, religion is mocked and there is absolutely no respect for a differing opinion. This did not go down well in the Midwest, where Trump flipped three blue states and 44 electoral votes.

LBN-COMMENTARY by James Edward Sved (Founder, Herald de Paris): “The world is dangerously distracted,” PR Guru Michael Levine once told me, “People are masturbating digitally, and acting with vapid inanity.”  That was in 2009.  It may as well have been last week, and Levine may as well have been talking about 2016 and the recent presidential election.  “There’s no filter,” Levine added back then, “Any jackass in pajamas can go out there and say whatever they want.”  And there it is – Michael Levine predicted our National conundrum – President-Elect Donald Trump, an arrogant, insecure, digital bully who Tweets anything and everything that comes into his mind. Who fights with a Broadway musical?  Who hosts Saturday Night Live and then takes offense at … Saturday Night Live?  Anyone who has watched the show, let alone anyone who has hosted it, knows that if there is an elephant in the room, Lorne Michaels will exploit it.  Mr. Trump, you are currently the elephant.  Get used to it.  And you have your hands full if you are going to start sparring verbally with Alec Baldwin, a man known for making 9 year olds cry.
