IT’S OVER – Ringling Bros. Circus To End 146-Run:

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus announced on Saturday night that it would be ending its 146-run in 2017 with final performances in May. Kenneth Feld, whose company Feld Entertainment produces the circus, said in a statement that ticket sales had been declining and dropped even further when they took elephants out of the show last year. “This, coupled with high operating costs, made the circus an unsustainable business for the company,” the statement read. “The circus and its people have continually been a source of inspiration and joy to my family and me.”

Pence: Lewis Comments ‘Disappointing’:

Vice president-elect Mike Pence told Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” that Representative John Lewis‘ comments questioning the legitimacy of Donald Trump‘s win were “deeply disappointing.” “Donald Trump won this election fair and square,” Pence said. “The American people know that, and while I have great respect for John Lewis and his contributions, particularly with the civil rights movement, I was deeply disappointed to see someone of his stature question of Donald Trump’s election as president and say he’s not attending the inauguration.” Trump has responded by sending a series of tweets disparaging Lewis.

FEAR – Jennifer Holliday Backs Out of Trump Inauguration:

Singer Jennifer Holliday has pulled out of performing atDonald Trump’s inauguration and apologized to LGBT fans over what she called a “lapse of judgment” made clear to her by a Daily Beast article. The Grammy award-winning singer released an open letter on Saturday apologizing for being “uneducated on the issues that affect every American at this crucial time in history and for causing such dismay and heartbreak to my fans.” “In light of the information pointed out to me via the Daily Beast article on yesterday, my only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT Community and to state unequivocally that I will not perform for the welcome concert or for any of the inauguration festivities!” she wrote.

Border tunnels left unfilled on Mexican side pose security risk, officials say:

Mexican drug cartels have burrowed dozens of tunnels in the last decade, outfitted them with rail and cart systems to whisk drugs under the U.S. border and, after being discovered by authorities, abandoned them. But some of the illicit passageways live on.At least six previously discovered border tunnels have been reactivated by Mexican trafficking groups in recent years, exposing a recurring large-scale smuggling threat, according to U.S. and Mexican law enforcement officials. The breaches of border defenses, most recently in December, occur because Mexican authorities, unlike those on the American side, do not fill the tunnels with concrete once they have been discovered. Mexican authorities say they lack the funds.

Donald Trump News Conference Gets the ‘S.N.L.’ Treatment:

If Donald J. Trump’s first news conference as president-elect was a raucous, chaotic affair on Wednesday – and it was – the parody of it on “Saturday Night Live” was somehow calmer and more organized than the actual event. Still, the “S.N.L.” sketch pulled few punches as it swung at the show’s most powerful, persistent critic, mocking Mr. Trump on a range of subjects, including the perceived lack of star power at his coming inauguration; his opaque plan to divest himself from his businesses; and the possibility that Russia possessed unverified compromising information on him. Saturday night’s episode, the first new one of 2017, once again featured Alec Baldwin as Mr. Trump. He started off the faux news conference by vowing to answer what he said was “the question that’s on everyone’s mind.” —— LBN-VIDEO LINK

LBN-COMMENTARY by Michael Levine (Media expert and author – ) : Politicians perpetually make the mistake of thinking that power over others and leadership are the same thing.

LBN SPOTLIGHT: What’s Your Leadership Strategy?
Richard Branson practices it at Virgin Group. Paul Polman implements it at Unilever. Mark Benioff pioneered it early-on at world’s top CEOs are all doing well by doing good. Are you?

LBN-COMMENTARY by Vickie Casas (California business owner): Oh my, oh my the California Bullet Train! I am sure it is no surprise to anyone that the first leg of this project is going to cost double. Can you imagine what the final product will cost! Anyone who lived through Jerry Brown’s first round of serving as Governor of California should of been well prepared for his legacy Bullet train to bomb. The California Bullet train is the worst infrastructure project that this State has ever implemented. Me, myself and I will continue to take those forty-nine dollar flights that take one hour and fifteen minutes from L.A to San Francisco.
