Lynch: I ‘Regret’ Meeting with Bill Clinton:
Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Sunday that she regrets having met with former President Bill Clinton on a tarmac in Phoenix earlier this year while the FBI was probing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, suggesting the discussion might have cast doubt on the integrity of that investigation. “I do regret sitting down and having a conversation with him, because it did give people concern,” Lynch told CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union. “And as I said, my greatest concern has always been making sure that people understand that the Department of Justice works in a way that is independent and looks at everybody equally.” Lynch said the meeting gave “people a reason to think differently” about the impartiality of the investigation and the department as a whole, describing it as a “painful” experience. Lynch asserted at the time that the conversation was “cordial” and that she and Clinton did not discuss the FBI’s probe, but conservative pundits said the meeting was evidence that the department was unable to conduct an impartial investigation. “I wish I had seen around that corner and not had that discussion with the former president, as innocuous as it was, because it did give people concern,” Lynch added. “It did make people wonder, ‘is it going to affect the investigation that was going on?’”
Trump: China Should ‘Keep’ Stolen Drone:
President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday night that China should “keep” the naval drone that it stole from the U.S. last week in the South China Sea. “We should tell China that we don’t want the drone they stole back—let them keep it!” Trump tweeted. The Pentagon said it had “secured an understanding” from China that the drone would be returned. Earlier Saturday, Trump called it an “unprecedented act” on the part of China—a nation whom Trump has angered with his recent suggestions that he would not hold firm to the “one-China” policy when it comes to recognizing the Taiwanese government.
Report: Syrian Rebels Burn Evacuation Buses:
Syrian rebels torched evacuation buses that were heading for government-controlled areas of Idlib to rescue the wounded, according to a report. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said six buses in total were attacked. Syrian government forces demanded that the Idlib evacuations proceed before civilians could be transported out of eastern Aleppo, where some residents were forced to sleep in the streets without food. Syrian state media reportedly described the assailants as “armed terrorists.”

‘S.N.L.’ Hammers Donald Trump as a ‘Gift’ to Vladimir Putin for Christmas:
Though there is still a week until Christmas, “Saturday Night Live” has already seized the opportunity to leave a lump of coal in the stocking of President-elect Donald J. Trump. In its final episode of 2016, “S.N.L.,” the sketch series and enduring thorn in Mr. Trump’s side, began with a cold open on Saturday that went hard at some sensitive spots for the president-elect: his relationship to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, his courtship of Melania Trump, and some of his recent gaffes and cabinet nominations. The show all but dared Mr. Trump to respond on his Twitter account, but he did not immediately do so. The opening sketch once again featured Alec Baldwin as Mr. Trump and Kate McKinnon as his senior adviser Kellyanne Conway. It began with him revealing that he had chosen Rick Perry, the former governor of Texas, to be secretary of energy after seeing him on “Dancing With the Stars.

LBN-COMMENTARY by Larry Grobel (Author): Let me behonest about New Year’s resolutions. I don’t like them because they’re usually too hard to keep, and thus by the end of the year you can only be disappointed with yourself. Who needs that? I did once resolve to give up ice cream for a year, and wouldn’t you know it, it was the year that Haagen Dazs came out with their vanilla swiss almond flavor that someone brought to a New Year’s Eve party. I ate it, loved it, and cursed it because the next day I was starting my ice cream fast. Well, I managed to keep off ice cream for 8 months, but I don’t think those were happy months. I wasn’t sorry that I broke that resolution. And I’m not sorry that I’m not making any for 2017.
LBN-COMMENTARY by Bill O’Reilly: By now you may have heard of Olga Perez Stable Cox. She is a woman of many names, the third of which is especially ironic. This college professor told her students this about the recent election: ‘We have been assaulted. It’s an act of terrorism.’ If her words weren’t offensive enough, the professor actually asked Trump-supporting students to stand and identify themselves. On her website, Cox boasts that it is her 30th year at Orange Coast College in California, adding, ‘I love teaching!’ That’s great, professor, and your ‘human sexuality’ classes are no doubt enlightening and academically first-rate. But your students might love learning more about the subject at hand, less about your political views.

But Taylor said she was too busy!”
