LBN- Special Report- Sunday

*RNC Threatens Trump Funding Cut:
Republican National Committee officials have reportedly begun to consider the option of cutting funding to Donald Trump’scampaign if he is unable to turn his poll numbers around by October. Members have privately held discussions about how the committee has done more for Trump’s campaign than that of Mitt Romney, as the political newcomer was more reliant on the RNC infrastructure. RNC chairman Reince Priebus has also reportedly been contacting Trump five to six times a day to attempt to coach him into a more steady candidate.

*LBN-ALL OVER THE WORD: Did you know that LBN is read in 26 foreign countries in 11 time zones daily. From China to India, from Russia to Australia, from England to Israel, from Brazil to Canada, from France to Cuba, from Korea to Germany, from Sweden to Mexico, from Greece to Spain. LBN is read all over the world!

*LBN-INVESTIGATES: In private, Donald Trump’s mood is often sullen and erratic, his associates say. He veers from barking at members of his staff to grumbling about how he was better off following his own instincts during the primaries and suggesting he should not have heeded their calls for change. He broods about his souring relationship with the news media, calling Mr. Manafort several times a day to talk about specific stories. Occasionally, Mr. Trump blows off steam in bursts of boyish exuberance: At the end of a fund-raiser on Long Island last week, he playfully buzzed the crowd twice with his helicopter. But in interviews with more than 20 Republicans who are close to Mr. Trump or in communication with his campaign, many of whom insisted on anonymity to avoid clashing with him, they described their nominee as exhausted, frustrated and still bewildered by fine points of the political process and why his incendiary approach seems to be sputtering. He is routinely preoccupied with perceived slights, for example raging to aides after Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, in his re-election announcement, said he would stand up to the next president regardless of party. In a visit to Capitol Hill in early July, Mr. Trump bickered with two Republican senators who had not endorsed him; he needled Representative Peter T. King of New York for having taken donations from him over the years only to criticize him on television now.
*Marion Barry’s Son Dies of Overdose:
Marion Christopher Barry, the son of former Washington D.C. mayor Marion Barry, died of a drug overdose at the age of 36. He previously ran for his father’s council seat in 2015 and lost. The younger Barry was previously jailed in D.C. for driving without a license and had been arrested for marijuana possession in the past.

*Milwaukee Gas Station Burned After Police Shooting:
A protest in Milwaukee turned violent on Saturday night over the killing of a man during a traffic stop earlier in the day. Police say the man was armed, and the police officer in question was wearing a body camera. During the protest a gas station as well as other businesses (a bank, beauty supply shop, and auto parts store) were set on fire. Three people were inside the gas station but got out unharmed. A police car also had its windows smashed and another was set on fire. Shots were fired at the protest, but were reportedly into the air. At a news conference in the middle of the night Alderman Khalif Rainey, who represents the neighborhood where the shooting took place, spoke about the protests turning violent declaring, “This entire community has sat back and witnessed how Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has become the worst place to live for African-Americans in the entire country. Now this is a warning cry. Where do we go from here? Where do we go as a community from here?”

*Trump: I’m Running Against Media Not Hil:
Donald Trump held a rally in deep-blue Connecticut on Saturday night during which he went on a tirade against the media once again. “I’m not running against crooked Hillary, I’m running against the crooked media,” Trump said. “That’s what I’m running against, I’m not running against crooked Hillary.” This comes at a time when his campaign is floundering and the Republican National Committee is considering diverting funds to down-ballot races.

*WTF? – Trump Spokesperson Katrina Pierson: Afghanistan Is ‘Obama’s War’:
Speaking on behalf of the Trump campaign to CNN on Saturday, spokesperson Katrina Pierson claimed that President Barack Obama was responsible for starting the war in Afghanistan. That war began following the September 11th attacks under President George W. Bush, seven years before Obama was elected president. In an attempt to defend Donald Trump’s assertion that Obama is the “founder of ISIS,” Pierson referenced the 2007 troop surge in Iraq before stating, “Remember, we weren’t even in Afghanistan by this time. Barack Obama went into Afghanistan, creating another problem.” When CNN anchor Victor Blackwell asked her if she believed Obama “took the country into Afghanistan post 2009,” Pierson replied, “That was Obama’s war, yes.” Earlier this month, Pierson also said President Obama was responsible for the death of Captain Humayun Khan, who died in Iraq in 2004, four years before he took office.

*LBN-NOTICED:   ***Jamie Foxx spontaneously performed with a house band at Mastro’s in Midtown New York City last week. A fellow diner at the steakhouse said that the “Ray” star dropped by “with his kids, a couple of handlers and his jeweler” and had a rib-eye and chocolate cake.   ***Over 900 guests attended another unbelievable party at the Marijuana Mansion in the Hollywood Hills last night, hosted by Big Mike. Live penguins at the ice bar, wrestlers randomly fighting each other on the lawn, an aerialist who served cocktails upside down, LED performers and so many other attractions made this another unforgettable Advanced Nutrients mega-party.

*LBN-OVERHEARD:   ***John Belushi famously smashed a guitar in “Animal House” — but his own ego was smashed by guitar idol Eric Clapton. “He worshipped Clapton,” says “On and On” singer Stephen Bishop, whose guitar is destroyed by Belushi’s Bluto Blutarsky in the 1978 comedy. So thrilled Bishop would be seeing the guitarist in England, John insisted, “Tell him what a big fan I am and how much I love him.” When Bishop delivered the message, Clapton said, “Oh, that John Belushi who makes fun of Joe Cocker? I don’t like him!” John, who famously mocked Cocker’s spastic dance moves on “Saturday Night Live,” was devastated when Bishop shared Clapton’s opinion. “He got so upset,” said Bishop. “He was on an acid trip at the time — his wife, Judy, told me later — and he went into a big meltdown!”
