LBN- Special Report- Sunday

*Bin Laden’s Son Threatens U.S.:
Hamza bin Laden, the son of Osama bin Laden, threatened revenge against the United States for his father’s assassination in an audio message posted online. The 21-minute speech, called “We Are All Osama,” encourages al Qaeda to continue its fight against the United States. “We will continue striking you and targeting you in your country and abroad in response to your oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim lands that did not survive your oppression,” bin Laden said.

*Officials: TX. Shooter Had Bigger Plans:
Investigators believe that Micah Johnson, the former Army reservist who killed five people in Dallas on Thursday night, was planning a larger attack but moved up his plan in response to the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. “We think he was probably planning something bigger based on what we found at the house with the explosive materials,” said a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation. “He had a bunch of explosive materials. He didn’t have the explosives created.”

*Hundreds Arrested in Police Protests:

Police arrested more than 200 people in protests that spread throughout Baton Rouge and St. Paul on Saturday night in response to the recent police shootings of Alton Sterling andPhilando Castile. The protesters in St. Paul forced the Interstate 94 highway to shut down. Pepper spray was reportedly used on some protesters to disperse the crowd. Nearly 1,000 protesters in Baton Rouge faced off against police clad in riot gear resulting in two instances of weapons being confiscated and many arrests.

*Lin-Manuel Miranda Takes His Final Bows in ‘Hamilton’:

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s final bows for his farewell performance in “Hamilton” on Saturday night seemed routine, if not overly humble for the departure of the show’s star and mastermind. He even shared his bows with the other cast members who were also exiting the show, including Phillipa Soo and the Tony winner Leslie Odom Jr. But then the theme song to “The West Wing” kicked in from the orchestra pit. Mr. Miranda giggled and took a couple of shy bows, only to turn around and be embraced then pushed back to the front of the stage by Christopher Jackson, who plays George Washington, for a proper bow.

The whole evening is expected to raise a record breaking 1.8 million dollars for cancer research.  ***Taryn Manning dining on the patio at Dos Caminos Meatpacking in NYC. She was with a guest, who was overheard saying, “You should see what it’s like when I bring Taystee out” (referring to her fellow ‘Orange Is the New Black’ inmate, played byDanielle Brooks).   ***Vincent Piazza at Vero on the Upper East Side in NYC.   ***Travis Scott at Bounce in NYC.   ***Brooke Shields greeting Leesa Rowland and Larry Wohl at Art Southampton during “Call of the Wild,” a show Shields co-curated with the New York Academy of Art.   ***Beyoncé and husband Jay Z were crazy in love on Saturday afternoon — with Serena Williams, that is. The famous couple were in the stands to cheer on the tennis champion as she won her seventh singles tournament at Wimbledon — and tied Steffi Graf’s Open Era record with 22 Grand Slam singles titles.

*LBN-MEDIA INSIDER:   ***And now, speaking for the defense: Maria Bartiromo. The veteran business-news journalist joined a number of employees of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network who have stepped up to support Roger Ailes, the chairman and chief executive of Fox News, in the wake of stunning allegations of sexual harassment leveled in a lawsuit by former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson, and, earlier today, by six women who spoke of their experiences with the executive several decades ago. “Nobody wants to see anybody have any bad experiences,” said Bartiromo of the allegations, during an interview withVariety. “It’s just not in keeping with what I know, and my experience at Fox.”

*LBN-COMMENTARY by Maureen Dowd: It says a lot about our relationship with Hillary Clinton that she seems well on her way to becoming Madam President because she’s not getting indicted. If she were still at the State Department, she could be getting fired for being, as the F.B.I. director told Congress, “extremely careless” with top-secret information. Instead, she’s on a glide path to a big promotion. And that’s the corkscrew way things go with the Clintons, who are staying true to their reputation as the Tom and Daisy Buchanan of American politics. Their vast carelessness drags down everyone around them, but they persevere, and even thrive. In a mere 11 days, arrogant, selfish actions by the Clintons contaminated three of the purest brands in Washington — Barack Obama, James Comey and Loretta Lynch — and jeopardized the futures of Hillary’s most loyal aides.

*LBN-OVERHEARD:   ***Derek Jeter is finally a married man. The 42-year-old former New York Yankees captain married model Hannah Davis, 26, on Saturday. And rather than throw a big showbiz wedding, the couple chose to exchange their vows in a small and intimate ceremony with only close friends and family in Napa, Calif.
