*LBN-INVESTIGATES: Refilling Water Bottles

Refilling your water bottle is an easy way to save money, be green and most importantly stay healthy, right? Wrong. A study by Treadmill Reviews has found that water bottles harbor huge levels of potentially harmful bacteria. In fact, researchers revealed that drinking from the average refillable bottle “can be many times worse than licking your dog’s toy.” Gross. Four different types of reusable bottle were tested after they were used by athletes for a week, and the results were shocking. The study found that the average athlete’s water bottle had 313,499 CFU (colony-forming units of bacteria). In comparison, the average dog toy has 2,937.
*Daniel Craig, Adele to Reunite for Next ‘Bond’ Film

British actor Daniel Craig is set to play James Bond—again—despite notoriously batting down the role in 2015, claiming, “​I’d ​rather slash my wrists” than play 007 in another film. Craig, 49, has had a recent change of heart, according to reports, and will team up with Adele for Bond 25, which is expected to begin shooting next year.​​ Adele​ won a 2013 Grammy for her song for Skyfall​.​ Several British actors were said to be in the running for the next 007 film, including Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Jackman, Idris Elba, and Tom Hardy.

*‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Wins Weekend Box Office

Spider-Man: Homecoming had the second-biggest opening in the Spider-Man franchise and easily claimed first place in theaters this weekend, with $117 million domestically and $140 million internationally. The latest film in the franchise sees Tom Holland take on the role of a 15-year-old Spider-Man struggling to come to terms with his superhero potential. The film saw Sony Pictures team up with Marvel Studios after its previous two Spider-Man flicks fell short of expectations at the box office. The joint effort proved to be successful, as the latest installment had the best debut since 2007’s Spider-Man 3. The animated comedy Despicable Me 3 came in second place in theaters, with $34 million domestically, and action flick Baby Driver claimed third place with $12.8 million.
