LBN- Special Report- Monday

*Trump to Release Results of New Physical:
In an interview on Fox & Friends early Monday morning,Donald Trump said he will release more health information in the coming days. “This last week, I took a physical,” he said. “Hopefully [the results] are going to be good—I think they’re going to be good. I feel great. I’ll be releasing very, very specific numbers.” The Republican presidential nominee announced the news after Hillary Clinton, who has been diagnosed with pneumonia, became ill Sunday and then canceled a planned trip to California. “The coughing fit was a week ago, so I assume that was pneumonia also,” Trump remarked. “I just hope she gets well and gets back on the trail, and we’ll be seeing her at the debate.”

*Pneumonia Spreading Through Hillary Campaign:
According to a report, pneumonia is spreading among staffers at Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters in Brooklyn. The Democratic presidential nominee was diagnosed with thecondition Friday, but the campaign didn’t tell the public until Sunday, after Clinton had a fainting episode while visiting the 9/11 memorial in Manhattan. “Everyone’s been sick,” a source said. The report added that the illness was spreading among campaign staffers and traveling aides beginning in August. Six senior staffers have been affected, including campaign manager Robby Mook, while two high-level advisers needed “emergency medical treatment.” Fundraisers in California that were scheduled for Monday and Tuesday were canceled as the former secretary of State rests and recovers at home.

*Assad: I Will Retake Every Inch of Syria:
With hours to go before a cease-fire was set to take effect, a defiant Syrian President Bashar al-Assad vowed Monday in a statement broadcast on state-run TV to “reclaim every area from the terrorists.” The new cease-fire, brokered by Russia and the United States, is expected to begin Monday evening. It’s still unclear if rebel factions, who have expressed reservations about the agreement, will abide by the deal, as shelling was reported in Aleppo. In a rare public appearance, Assad attended prayers at a mosque in a newly surrendered Damascus suburb on Eid al-Adha, a Muslim holiday. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary of State John Kerry agreed to the cease-fire in Geneva over the weekend. It stipulates an initial “pause” in fighting between all sides in order to make way for humanitarian aid. Eventually, according to the complex deal, the U.S. and Russia would coordinate airstrikes against militants inside the country.

*Hillary Cancels California Trip After Pneumonia Diagnosis:
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has canceled a campaign trip to California after news of her pneumonia diagnosis triggered new concerns over her health. One of Clinton’s aides announced the cancellation Sunday night. Clinton was scheduled to attend fundraisers Monday and Tuesday, and also to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But the trip is now off, as she has been advised by her doctor to rest. Clinton’s health has been the subject of numerous rumors throughout the campaign, with her Republican opponent Donald Trump repeatedly questioning whether she’s healthy enough to lead the country. At a 9/11 anniversary ceremony at ground zero on Sunday, Clinton abruptly left the event after appearing to faint. After initially claiming she’d simply “overheated,” her campaign admitted she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.

Newly crowned Miss America Savvy Shields, who was awarded her crown Sunday night, dipped her toe into election-year politics during a press conference after the pageant. “I hope that at the end of my year, we’re starting to reward politicians for compromise,” said the 21-year-old Miss Arkansas. “What I want both candidates to focus on is compromise,” Shields said. “Our country was founded on compromise. We’re in a state now where both parties just seem to be yelling at one another.” Shields beat out 51 other contestants in Atlantic City for the title. “If you’re trying to be leader of the free world, everything you say and do matters and all of your actions are held to a higher standard,” Shields said, referring to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. “Both of the contestants have done a good job, but they also need to watch what they’re doing.”

*LBN-BUSINESS INSIDER: ***The Federal Aviation Administration, citing fire hazards, has warned against using Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on aircraft. Three Australian airlines and the German carrier Lufthansa have outright banned their use onboard. But the threat of airliner fires is not limited to Samsung devices, which the company has offered to replace. And the hazard is far more than theoretical. Qantas, one of the Australian carriers, had an onboard fire during a trans-Pacific flight this year when a passenger’s cellphone was crushed in the mechanism of a business-class seat and the phone’s lithium-ion battery ignited.
